Responsibilities
- Operations Management: Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient flow of goods, timely shipments, and accurate inventory counts.
- Team Leadership: Mentor, train, and supervise a team of warehouse associates, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to OSHA safety standards and company protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Process Optimization: Analyze workflows and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Staff Scheduling: Create and manage shift schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours and busy seasons.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to ensure equipment is in proper working order.
- Customer Satisfaction: Coordinate with logistics coordinators to resolve order discrepancies and ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or logistics environment.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Supply Chain or Business preferred.
- Forklift Certification: Valid forklift operator certification is mandatory.
- Skills: Strong proficiency with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff and management.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in varying temperature conditions.
- Problem Solving: Proven track record of identifying issues and implementing effective solutions under pressure.
