Job Description
Join the forefront of technological revolution as we architect the quantum computing landscape of 2026. At Nexus Quantum Labs, we're pioneering next-generation quantum systems that will redefine computation, cryptography, and artificial intelligence. We seek a visionary Quantum Computing Architect to design fault-tolerant quantum processors, develop error-correction frameworks, and lead cross-disciplinary research teams. This role combines deep theoretical expertise with hands-on implementation in state-of-the-art cryogenic environments.
You'll collaborate with Nobel laureates and industry pioneers to translate quantum algorithms into scalable hardware solutions. Our Austin facility houses the world's most advanced quantum annealing systems, and you'll drive innovations in qubit connectivity, coherence optimization, and hybrid quantum-classical workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable quantum processor architectures with >10,000 stable qubits
- Develop fault-tolerant quantum error correction protocols for 2026-era hardware
- Lead integration of quantum accelerators with classical HPC infrastructure
- Optimize quantum algorithms for NISQ and fault-tolerant computing paradigms
- Establish quantum security frameworks for post-quantum cryptography transition
- Drive R&D in topological qubits and photonic quantum networks
- Mentor quantum engineering teams and publish breakthrough research
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years experience in quantum computing hardware or software development
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in Nature/Science journals on quantum systems
- Experience with cryogenic engineering and superconducting circuits
- Strong background in quantum information theory and many-body physics
- Certification in quantum security protocols (e.g., NIST Post-Quantum standards)
