Responsibilities
- Operate Material Handling Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate forklifts (including Reach Trucks, Order Pickers, and Pallet Jacks) to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Inventory Management: Accurately pick, pack, and stage orders for shipment, ensuring all inventory counts match system data.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA safety guidelines and company protocols to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Load Management: Inspect loads for damage, secure cargo properly, and ensure weight distribution is balanced to prevent accidents.
- Overtime Availability: Willingness and ability to work overtime shifts, including weekends and holidays, as business demands require.
- Maintenance: Perform routine pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any mechanical issues or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Certification: Possession of a valid forklift operator certification (Class A, B, or C) and a clean driving record.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience operating heavy industrial forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift; comfortable working in varying temperature environments.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy in inventory management and order fulfillment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
