Responsibilities
- Operate Material Handling Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate powered industrial trucks, including sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks to move materials throughout the facility.
- Load and Unload Cargo: Properly load, unload, and stack merchandise onto trailers and racks, ensuring weight distribution and stability.
- Inventory Management: Assist in the receiving and stocking of inventory, verifying counts against purchase orders and maintaining accurate records.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations, warehouse policies, and operational procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
- Maintenance Checks: Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections on forklifts to ensure equipment is in good working condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs for daily operations, including safety checks and inventory transfers.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid and current Forklift Operator Certification (OSHA compliant) is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating heavy machinery in a warehouse or logistics setting is preferred.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive motions. Must pass a background check and drug screen.
- License: Valid California Class B Driver's License is a plus.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy when handling inventory and operating equipment.
