Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse and to delivery vehicles.
- Inventory Management: Assist in stock management by verifying quantities, identifying discrepancies, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts to ensure they are in safe working condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Organization: Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of obstructions to ensure smooth workflow and prevent accidents.
- Cargo Handling: Secure loads properly to prevent shifting during transit and ensure fragile items are handled with care.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must hold a valid and current forklift operator license (Class A, B, or C).
- Experience: Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting is preferred but not required for top candidates.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods. Must be able to pass a basic physical fitness assessment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on safety protocols and accuracy in inventory management.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Availability: Must be available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.
