Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Safely load and unload freight from trucks, trailers, and railcars using forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Inventory Management: Accurately stock inventory, pick orders, and maintain organized storage areas to ensure efficient warehouse flow.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily pre-shift inspections and routine maintenance checks on forklifts to ensure operational safety.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations and company policies to maintain a hazard-free workplace.
- Documentation: Record daily operations, track movements of goods, and complete necessary paperwork for inventory tracking.
- Cleanliness: Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of debris to prevent accidents.
Qualifications
- Willingness to Learn: No prior forklift experience required; candidates must be eager to learn and pass certification.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions in a fast-paced environment.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license (Class C) is preferred but not always mandatory for entry-level.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to focus on details to ensure accurate inventory counts and order fulfillment.
- Safety Conscious: Must demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety and follow instructions accurately.
