Responsibilities
- Load and Unload Freight: Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload shipping trucks and railcars according to shipping schedules.
- Inventory Management: Accurately check and record inventory levels, ensuring stock is organized and palletized correctly.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and company policies; perform daily pre-shift equipment inspections.
- Material Handling: Move materials to designated storage areas, ensuring warehouse flow remains efficient during the night shift.
- Equipment Maintenance: Report any mechanical issues with forklifts or warehouse equipment to the maintenance supervisor immediately.
- Order Fulfillment: Assist in picking and packing orders for the next day's outbound shipping.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid forklift operator certification (OSHA compliant) is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating stand-up or sit-down forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Availability: Must be available to work full-time night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive motions.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Communication: Basic ability to read and understand safety labels and inventory tags.
