Responsibilities
- Receiving and Verification: Inspect incoming shipments for damage and verify quantities against packing slips to ensure accuracy before storing items in the warehouse.
- Inventory Audits: Perform regular cycle counts and annual physical inventories to ensure stock levels match our database records (WMS).
- Data Entry: Maintain up-to-date digital and physical inventory logs, recording stock movements, adjustments, and discrepancies.
- Stock Organization: Organize and store merchandise in designated areas, utilizing barcoding and scanning technology for efficient retrieval.
- Shipment Preparation: Assist in picking, packing, and labeling orders for shipment, ensuring all packaging meets quality standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks on inventory management software and handheld scanners to ensure equipment is functioning correctly.
- Reporting: Generate daily, weekly, or monthly inventory reports to assist management in making restocking and purchasing decisions.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience as an inventory clerk, stock clerk, or in a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Fishbowl) and handheld scanners is highly desirable.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to spot discrepancies and maintain high levels of accuracy in data entry and physical counts.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, and work in various weather conditions within the warehouse.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with the warehouse team and management.
- Forklift Certification: Forklift certification is a plus but not mandatory for the entry-level role.
