Job Overview
As a Material Handler, you will be the backbone of our daily operations. You will ensure the smooth flow of goods, maintain inventory accuracy, and adhere to strict safety protocols. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work and can keep up with the demands of a high-volume distribution center.
Responsibilities
- Load and Unload Freight: Safely move pallets and boxes using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Inventory Management: Verify incoming and outgoing shipments, perform cycle counts, and update inventory systems accurately.
- Material Organization: Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment to ensure efficient workflow and safety compliance.
- Packaging & Labeling: Properly package items for shipment, ensuring all labels and documentation are correct.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections on forklifts and material handling equipment to ensure they are in safe working condition.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly follow OSHA safety guidelines and company policies at all times.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team leads and other warehouse staff to meet daily production goals.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing is preferred.
- License: Valid forklift certification (or willingness to obtain certification upon hire).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, stand for extended periods, and navigate uneven surfaces.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to spot discrepancies in inventory or shipping documents.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work various shifts, including overtime and weekends as needed.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
