Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Equipment: Operate sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse and dock areas.
- Inventory Management: Assist in receiving and verifying incoming stock, conducting cycle counts, and organizing stock to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Load Preparation: Properly secure cargo using straps, chains, and bars to ensure safe transport on delivery trucks.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations and company policies, including wearing required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.
- Maintenance: Perform routine pre-shift inspections of forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace to promote operational efficiency and safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Forklift Operator Certification (OSHA compliant) is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Visual Acuity: Good depth perception and color vision to safely navigate the warehouse.
- Documentation: Ability to read, write, and understand basic English instructions and safety logs.
- Reliability: A proven history of punctuality and adherence to safety protocols.
