Responsibilities
- Coordinate Shipments: Manage the end-to-end process of inbound and outbound freight, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries.
- Documentation: Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs paperwork.
- Carrier Management: Negotiate rates and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and trucking companies.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot shipping delays, damages, or discrepancies efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Inventory Tracking: Monitor inventory levels and update warehouse management systems to reflect real-time stock status.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze shipping reports to identify trends and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or freight forwarding.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business or Logistics preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Strong computer skills with experience in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan) and Microsoft Excel.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with vendors and clients professionally.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with shipping regulations and safety standards.
- Time Management: Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
