Responsibilities
- Manage the Shipping Process: Oversee the end-to-end shipping lifecycle, including picking, packing, labeling, and dispatching of goods to ensure timely delivery.
- Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and verify all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs paperwork, ensuring strict compliance with local and international regulations.
- Carrier Coordination: Liaise with third-party logistics providers and freight carriers to negotiate rates, track shipments, and resolve delivery issues efficiently.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels related to outbound stock, conduct cycle counts, and report discrepancies to the warehouse manager immediately.
- Customer Communication: Provide accurate tracking information and updates to clients regarding their shipments, handling inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
- Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in the shipping workflow and suggest improvements to increase operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehousing operations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is essential).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to manage complex documentation and ensure zero errors in shipping labels and paperwork.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and external vendors.
- Problem Solving: Ability to think critically and resolve shipping delays or logistical challenges under pressure.
