Responsibilities
- Load and Unload Freight: Safely operate material handling equipment (such as forklifts) to load and unload refrigerated trucks and pallets.
- Monitor Temperatures: Regularly inspect and log temperature readings in storage areas to ensure compliance with safety standards and product requirements.
- Inventory Management: Perform cycle counts and inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels in the cold storage facility.
- Pallet Organization: Organize and stack products in designated areas, adhering to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations and company safety protocols, including wearing required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly in a cold environment (32°F to 10°F).
- Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse, cold storage, or logistics environment is preferred.
- Forklift Certification: Possession of a valid forklift license is a plus but not strictly required (training provided).
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to follow instructions and maintain high standards of accuracy.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work in a fast-paced team setting.
- Communication: Basic English skills sufficient for understanding safety instructions and communicating with team members.
