Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment (reach trucks, pallet jacks) to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse and dock areas.
- Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and equipment to ensure all safety mechanisms are functioning correctly.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by properly tagging and locating stock according to warehouse management systems.
- Follow all OSHA safety guidelines and company protocols to ensure a hazard-free work environment.
- Collaborate with team leads to optimize workflow efficiency and meet daily production targets.
- Assist with packaging, labeling, and organizing shipments for outbound delivery.
Qualifications
- Valid Forklift Operator Certification (OSHA compliant) is required.
- Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center setting is preferred but not always required for the right candidate.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to use handheld scanners.
