Responsibilities
- Load and Unload: Safely load and unload merchandise onto and off trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure strapping.
- Inventory Verification: Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading to ensure accuracy and minimize errors.
- Equipment Operation: Operate pallet jacks, forklifts (if certified), and hand trucks to move materials efficiently throughout the facility.
- Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment by organizing stock and removing debris.
- Quality Control: Inspect products for damage during transit and report any discrepancies immediately to the shift supervisor.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members to streamline workflow and meet daily productivity targets.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, and perform heavy physical labor.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy when handling inventory and shipping documents.
- License: Valid driver's license and forklift certification (Class A/B) is a plus.
- Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
