Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Inventory Management: Assist in the accurate counting and organization of stock, ensuring inventory levels match system records.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations and company policies, including proper lifting techniques and equipment maintenance checks.
- Equipment Care: Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts to ensure they are in safe operating condition and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team leads and other warehouse staff to ensure workflow efficiency and meet daily production targets.
- Packaging: Assist in the proper packaging and labeling of goods for shipment, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid forklift operator certification (CPR/First Aid preferred but not always required).
- Experience: Proven experience operating heavy machinery or forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and work in various temperature conditions.
- Reliability: A strong work history with a focus on attendance and punctuality.
- Communication: Basic reading and writing skills to understand safety logs and inventory labels.
- Driver's License: Valid state-issued driver's license required for warehouse driving tasks.
