Responsibilities
- Load and Unload Freight: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move pallets in and out of the cold storage facility.
- Inventory Management: Scan and verify incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling.
- Temperature Compliance: Monitor storage temperatures regularly and log data to ensure products are kept within safe specifications.
- Facility Maintenance: Keep aisles clear of debris, sweep floors, and report any equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Safety Adherence: Follow OSHA safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with shift leads and warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Cold Tolerance: Comfortable working in refrigerated environments (temperatures often below 40°F).
- Experience: Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or cold storage is preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to track inventory and ensure accuracy in data entry.
- Reliability: Must have a consistent work history and reliable transportation to the Omaha facility.
- License: Forklift certification is a plus but we provide training for the right candidates.
