Job Summary:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe operation of material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment (Reach Truck, Order Picker) safely and efficiently in strict compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads for transport to prevent damage.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of machinery to identify any mechanical issues or safety hazards.
- Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels in the warehouse management system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times, adhering to 5S principles.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure timely processing of orders and timely shipments.
- Follow all safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions immediately to management.
Qualifications
- Valid forklift operator certification (OSHA 10/30 preferred or equivalent state certification).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Strong attention to detail and basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, nights, and overtime as required.
