Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment (e.g., sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring cargo is secured and handled with care.
- Perform regular inventory counts and maintain accurate stock records in the warehouse management system.
- Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and company safety protocols to prevent accidents.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping, organizing pallets, and inspecting equipment.
- Communicate effectively with team leads and warehouse managers regarding inventory levels and potential issues.
- Assist in other warehouse duties as needed, such as packaging and order fulfillment.
Qualifications
- Valid Forklift Operator Certification (CDL not required but preferred for specific roles).
- Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic computer literacy for logging inventory or operating warehouse software.
- Reliable transportation to and from the facility in Chicago, IL.
