Responsibilities
- Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse safely and efficiently.
- Perform inventory counts and maintain accurate stock records using handheld scanners and inventory management systems.
- Ensure all forklift operations adhere to strict OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies at all times.
- Collaborate with the logistics and receiving teams to optimize shipping and receiving schedules and workflow.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to 5S standards.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts and report any mechanical issues to management immediately.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid forklift operator certification (OSHA compliant) or be willing to obtain one.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating heavy machinery in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing or walking for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Washington DC facility.
