Responsibilities
- Operate Material Handling Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers to transport goods throughout the facility.
- Load and Unload Freight: Perform the accurate loading and unloading of inbound and outbound trailers, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing cargo.
- Inventory Control: Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to scan, track, and verify inventory levels, ensuring data accuracy.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations, conduct pre-shift equipment inspections, and report any hazards immediately.
- Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and stage customer orders with speed and precision to meet daily shipping deadlines.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts and report mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Forklift Operator Certification (OSHA compliant) is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a distribution or manufacturing setting.
- License: Valid Driver's License.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motion tasks.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy, safety protocols, and organization.
- Computer Skills: Basic proficiency with handheld scanners and computer terminals.
