Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse and yard.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to all OSHA regulations and internal safety protocols at all times.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts, reporting any mechanical issues or safety hazards immediately to management.
- Inventory Management: Organize inventory, manage stock levels, and ensure accurate order fulfillment and stock rotation (FIFO).
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to streamline workflow, meet daily productivity targets, and assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
- Documentation: Accurately complete daily logs, checklists, and inventory reports using warehouse management software.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid and current forklift operator certification (Class A, B, or C) is required.
- Experience: Previous experience operating heavy machinery in a warehouse or distribution center setting is preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods.
- Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety procedures and the ability to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
- Reliability: Must pass a background check and drug screen; reliable attendance is mandatory.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy for logging inventory and work orders.
