Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate forklifts and material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all OSHA regulations and company safety protocols.
- Inventory Management: Perform regular inventory checks, stock replenishment, and cycle counting to ensure accuracy and minimize waste.
- Loading & Unloading: Load and unload shipments from trucks and trailers, ensuring proper handling of products to prevent damage.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct pre-shift inspections of forklifts to identify any mechanical issues and report them immediately to management.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace at all times, including the de-cluttering of aisles and dock areas.
- Documentation: Accurately complete daily logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA 10/30 Hour or equivalent) is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating powered industrial trucks in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, stand for extended periods, and maneuver in tight spaces.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to follow instructions and maintain high standards of accuracy in inventory records.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (for dock operations).
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
