Responsibilities
- Operate Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load & Unload: Load and unload shipments from trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing cargo for transport.
- Inventory Management: Check incoming and outgoing inventory against manifests and digital systems to ensure accuracy.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and company policies. Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklift equipment.
- Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of materials and keeping aisles clear.
- Documentation: Accurately complete daily logs, checklists, and reports regarding equipment maintenance and inventory status.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid forklift operator certification (OSHA compliant) and a clean driving record (if required for sit-down trucks).
- Experience: Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center setting is preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and navigate tight spaces.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy for inventory tracking systems.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on safety and precision when handling cargo.
