Responsibilities
- Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse and to delivery vehicles.
- Inspect forklift equipment for safety issues before each shift and report any malfunctions immediately.
- Ensure all inventory is accurately tagged, sorted, and stored according to warehouse protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles and OSHA safety standards.
- Collaborate with the inventory team to reconcile stock discrepancies and ensure order accuracy.
- Follow all traffic patterns in the warehouse to prevent accidents and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on forklifts, such as checking fluid levels and tire pressure.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must possess a valid forklift operator license (OSHA compliant).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience operating heavy machinery in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Education: High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy when handling inventory and shipping documents.
- Availability: Must be available to work full-time hours, including potential weekend shifts.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and warehouse staff.
