Responsibilities
- Operate Material Handling Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move, locate, and stack merchandise according to safety protocols.
- Inventory Management: Assist in receiving, counting, and stocking inventory with high accuracy to prevent stock discrepancies and ensure product availability.
- Load and Unload Freight: Load and unload trucks and trailers, ensuring packages are handled with care and placed in designated storage areas.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and company policies to maintain a hazard-free workplace at all times.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, inventory movements, and equipment usage.
Qualifications
- Valid Forklift Certification: Must possess a current and valid forklift operator certification (OSHA compliant).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items (up to 50+ lbs), and perform repetitive motions safely.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to focus on details to ensure inventory accuracy and strict safety adherence.
- Reliability: Must be punctual and able to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
