Responsibilities
- Operate Material Handling Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks to move products throughout the warehouse.
- Load & Unload Freight: Accurately load and unload trucks and trailers, ensuring cargo is secure and organized.
- Inventory Management: Assist in inventory counting, cycle counts, and maintaining accurate stock records using warehouse management systems.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations, wear required PPE, and complete daily pre-shift equipment inspections.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by promptly cleaning up spills, debris, and organizing storage areas.
- Quality Control: Inspect products for damage during transport and report any discrepancies immediately to the shift supervisor.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid and current Forklift Operator Certification (OSHA compliant).
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of verifiable experience operating forklifts in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Schedule Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and rotating shifts.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly. Good manual dexterity and coordination.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Equipment Knowledge: Ability to pass a forklift proficiency test on company equipment.
