Responsibilities
- Operate Material Handling Equipment: Safely and efficiently drive forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and Unload Freight: Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities against packing slips to ensure accuracy.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and tagging stock as required.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and company policies to maintain a hazard-free workplace.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure shipping and receiving targets are met on time.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must possess a valid forklift operator certification (OSHA compliant).
- Experience: Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center environment is preferred but not always required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy when counting inventory and handling merchandise.
- Reliability: Must have a reliable transportation method and be available for consistent shifts.
- Documentation: Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
