As a Forklift Operator at Metro Distribution Center, you will play a critical role in our supply chain operations, ensuring products are moved safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Equipment: Drive sit-down and stand-up forklifts to load, unload, and organize inventory with precision and care.
- Inventory Management: Verify stock quantities, tag items, and maintain accurate digital inventory records.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations and company protocols to maintain a hazard-free workplace.
- Material Handling: Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment to move stock to designated storage areas.
- Quality Control: Inspect products for damage and report any discrepancies or safety hazards immediately.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse managers and team members to meet daily productivity targets.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Forklift Operator Certification (OSHA compliant) is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to focus on detail to ensure accuracy in inventory and handling.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license is preferred.
- Communication: Basic English communication skills for safety briefings and team coordination.
