Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Equipment: Drive and operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move, locate, and relocate materials within the warehouse and loading docks.
- Load and Unload: Efficiently load and unload shipments from trailers and trucks, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Inventory Management: Assist in stock-taking, cycle counts, and maintaining accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and company policies, including wearing PPE and reporting hazardous conditions.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily pre-shift inspections on machinery and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team immediately.
- Organization: Keep the warehouse floor clean, organized, and free of obstructions to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must possess a valid and current Forklift Operator Certification (OSHA compliant).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience operating heavy machinery in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy regarding inventory counts and safety protocols.
- Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends if necessary.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
