Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to load, unload, and transport materials efficiently and safely.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts to ensure machinery is in proper working order.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to all OSHA safety regulations and company protocols.
- Inventory management: Stock shelves, pick orders, and ensure accurate inventory counts using warehouse management systems.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of freight trucks, ensuring proper documentation is handled.
- Communicate effectively with team leads and warehouse staff to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) regarding hazardous materials and equipment handling.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must possess a valid forklift operator certification (Class 1, 3, 4, or 5).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating heavy industrial equipment in a warehouse setting.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, stand for extended periods, and maneuver in tight spaces.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, basic math skills for inventory counting, and computer literacy (MS Office or warehouse software).
- Background: Clean background check and drug screen required.
- License: Valid Driver’s License (Class C) is preferred but not always required depending on the role.
