Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts (Reach Truck, Counterbalance, or Order Picker) to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse and dock areas.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of all forklift equipment to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues.
- Verify inventory accuracy by checking labels, barcodes, and quantity against work orders.
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations, including wearing PPE and following proper lifting techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including sweeping and organizing the dock area.
- Communicate effectively with team leads and other warehouse staff to ensure smooth workflow transitions.
- Assist in general warehouse duties as needed, such as picking and packing orders.
Qualifications
- Certified forklift operator (certification required at time of hire).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating heavy machinery or forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (typically 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy for logging work orders and inventory.
- Valid driver's license (if required to operate a pallet jack).
