Responsibilities
- Load and unload shipments of perishable goods using forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring weight distribution is balanced and safe.
- Monitor temperature logs regularly to ensure cold storage units are operating within the required safety parameters.
- Organize and stock inventory within freezers and coolers, maintaining clear aisles and adhering to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) protocols.
- Perform daily inspections of equipment and work areas to identify potential safety hazards or maintenance needs.
- Package and label products securely to prevent damage during transit and storage.
- Maintain cleanliness of the storage facility, including sweeping floors and removing debris to ensure compliance with health codes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or cold storage is a plus but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of forklift operation (certification is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict safety protocols.
- Must be able to work in extreme cold temperatures (32°F and below).
