Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end shipping processes including documentation, customs clearance, and carrier negotiations
- Monitor real-time shipments and proactively resolve transit delays or compliance issues
- Optimize freight routes and negotiate competitive rates with 3PL providers
- Maintain compliance with DOT, IATA, and international shipping regulations
- Collaborate with sales and warehouse teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment
- Implement and maintain inventory tracking systems for shipping materials
- Analyze shipping metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Train junior coordinators on logistics procedures and software platforms
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in shipping coordination or freight management
- Expert knowledge of Incoterms, customs brokerage, and hazmat regulations
- Proficiency in TMS systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated carrier relationship management
- Ability to manage high-volume shipments in time-sensitive environments
- Certification in logistics (CSCP, CLTD) or transportation preferred
- Exceptional problem-solving and cross-functional communication abilities
