Responsibilities
- Coordinate the scheduling and processing of inbound and outbound freight shipments.
- Monitor shipment status using TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and carrier portals to ensure on-time delivery.
- Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOL), commercial invoices, and customs forms.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, warehouse staff, and customers to resolve delivery discrepancies and logistics issues.
- Manage inventory levels related to shipping materials and coordinate stock replenishment as needed.
- Review shipping orders to ensure accuracy of items, quantities, and shipping methods.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance shipping efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a shipping, receiving, or logistics coordination role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and experience with TMS software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, or similar).
- Strong understanding of shipping regulations, hazardous material handling, and freight classifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally and stand for extended periods in a warehouse environment.
