Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule domestic and international freight shipments, ensuring timely delivery to customers.
- Prepare, verify, and process shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin, ensuring strict compliance with customs regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ERP software, tracking shipment status and inventory levels.
- Communicate proactively with carriers, drivers, and internal stakeholders to resolve delivery issues, delays, or damages immediately.
- Inspect cargo packaging and labeling to ensure safety standards are met and compliance with hazardous material regulations is upheld.
- Analyze shipping data to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize shipping routes for maximum efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a strong plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with logistics software (e.g., SAP, Manhattan, Oracle, or similar) is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot errors in documentation and data entry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively with third-party carriers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
