Responsibilities
- Coordinate Shipments: Manage the full lifecycle of shipping, including scheduling pickups, preparing bills of lading, and coordinating with carriers.
- Documentation: Ensure all shipping documentation is accurate, compliant, and filed correctly according to domestic and international regulations.
- Tracking & Reporting: Monitor shipment status in real-time, troubleshoot delays, and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring stock levels are sufficient for shipping needs.
- Customer Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding shipping inquiries, status checks, and issue resolution.
- Carrier Relations: Negotiate rates with 3PL providers and maintain strong relationships with freight forwarders and trucking companies.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
- Software: Proficiency in TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and ERP software; strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook).
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Logistics or related field preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse clients and vendors.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail to prevent shipping errors and lost cargo.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 25-50 lbs occasionally and stand for extended periods in a warehouse environment.
