Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end shipping operations for import/export cargo via Port of Long Beach terminals
- Manage documentation compliance (Bills of Lading, customs forms, Incoterms)
- Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers for timely vessel/port clearance
- Track shipments using TMS platforms and provide real-time updates to stakeholders
- Optimize container loading/unloading schedules to minimize demurrage fees
- Resolve transit delays through proactive communication and contingency planning
- Prepare monthly shipping cost analysis and efficiency reports
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in ocean freight coordination or port logistics
- Proficiency in TMS software (e.g., Descartes, WiseTech)
- Certification in supply chain management (CSCP, CLTD) preferred
- Deep knowledge of Port of Long Beach operations and regulations
- Exceptional problem-solving skills for complex routing scenarios
- Strong bilingual communication (English/Spanish) for diverse client base
- Ability to work flexible hours covering 24/7 port operations
