As a Shipping Coordinator, you will collaborate closely with warehouse managers, carriers, and internal departments to streamline our shipping processes and enhance customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for managing documentation, tracking shipments, and optimizing routes to ensure cost-effective delivery.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and Schedule: Manage the scheduling and coordination of domestic and international freight shipments, ensuring alignment with delivery deadlines.
- Documentation Management: Prepare, verify, and process all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Shipment Tracking: Monitor shipment progress in real-time using tracking systems, proactively identifying and resolving any delays or logistical issues.
- Vendor Relations: Communicate effectively with shipping carriers, freight forwarders, and vendors to negotiate rates and maintain strong business relationships.
- Inventory Control: Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure accurate inventory levels are maintained for outbound logistics.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze shipping costs and identify opportunities for cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, or a related supply chain role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail in data entry and documentation.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Ability to work under pressure, troubleshoot shipping delays, and make quick decisions to keep operations moving.
