Responsibilities
- Manage Shipping Operations: Oversee the end-to-end shipping process, including scheduling, loading, and dispatching freight.
- Carrier Coordination: Negotiate rates and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and trucking companies.
- Documentation: Prepare and verify accurate shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs paperwork.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate tracking of stock movement within the warehouse.
- Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot shipping delays or errors and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Reporting: Maintain detailed records and generate daily/weekly shipping reports for management review.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and transportation software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with clients, drivers, and internal teams.
- Organization: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Logistics or Business preferred.
- Driver's License: Valid Texas driver’s license required.
