At Apex Freight, we pride ourselves on operational excellence. As a Shipping Coordinator, you will manage the full lifecycle of shipments, from booking to final delivery, ensuring our clients receive the best service in the industry.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule domestic and international shipments, including trucking, air, and ocean freight, to ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, and manifests.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, drivers, and internal departments to resolve shipping discrepancies and delays.
- Monitor shipping costs and negotiate rates with third-party logistics providers to optimize the budget.
- Prepare and process necessary shipping documentation accurately and in compliance with regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of shipping data to identify trends and areas for operational improvement.
- Assist in the training of new staff on shipping procedures and warehouse management software.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain coordination.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and warehouse management systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record preferred.
