Responsibilities
- Coordinate Logistics: Manage the full lifecycle of shipping operations, from scheduling pickups to arranging final delivery to ensure 100% on-time performance.
- Documentation: Prepare, verify, and file all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin.
- Carrier Management: Negotiate rates with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and carriers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality service.
- Problem Solving: Monitor shipment tracking systems and proactively resolve any delays, damages, or discrepancies immediately.
- Compliance: Ensure all shipping activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations (DOT/FMCSA).
- Inventory Accuracy: Collaborate with the warehouse team to maintain accurate inventory records and shipment manifests.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics coordination.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel essential) and experience with logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Availability: Flexibility to work overtime during peak shipping seasons as needed.
