The Role
As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in our supply chain operations. You will ensure that our inventory is managed efficiently and that our distribution center operates smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Load and Unload: Safely load and unload trucks, railcars, and conveyors using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Inventory Management: Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently to meet shipping deadlines.
- Stock Control: Receive, verify, and store incoming materials; perform cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Equipment Operation: Operate powered industrial trucks (Forklifts) and other warehouse equipment in a safe and compliant manner.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety protocols and 5S standards.
- Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork, including packing slips and receiving logs, with 100% accuracy.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect products for damage and ensure proper labeling before shipment.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience: Previous warehouse or logistics experience is a plus but not required; on-the-job training provided.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, stand for extended periods, and walk on various surfaces.
- License: Valid driver's license required.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy and ability to read and comprehend instructions.
- Attitude: Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety.
- Equipment: Forklift certification (Class A or B) is a strong advantage.
