Responsibilities
- Operate Material Handling Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery to load, unload, and move materials.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels by scanning, counting, and organizing stock in the warehouse.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly follow OSHA safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a hazard-free working environment.
- Packaging & Shipping: Properly package, label, and prepare goods for shipment, ensuring damage prevention.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine pre-shift inspections on forklifts and report any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must possess a valid forklift certification or be willing to obtain one upon hiring.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy regarding inventory counts and load securing.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license required for yard truck operation (if applicable).
- Communication Skills: Ability to read and understand safety manuals and communicate clearly with team members.
