Responsibilities
- Operate Heavy Machinery: Safely and efficiently operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Inventory Management: Perform cycle counts and manage inventory levels using WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) to ensure accuracy.
- Load & Unload: Secure cargo using straps, chains, and coverings to prevent damage during transit.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety protocols and company guidelines to maintain a hazard-free environment.
- Palletizing: Expertly stack and organize pallets according to weight distribution and safety standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any mechanical issues to maintenance immediately.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with warehouse supervisors and team members to optimize workflow.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid forklift operator certification (OSHA compliant) is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating heavy industrial equipment in a warehouse setting.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, stand for extended periods, and work in varying temperature conditions.
- Documentation: Ability to read and understand safety labels, diagrams, and operational manuals.
- Driver's License: A valid driver’s license is preferred for dock operations.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy regarding inventory counts and load securing.
- Availability: Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business demands.
