Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Safely operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse and dock areas.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations and company policies; perform daily pre-shift equipment inspections and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Inventory Management: Accurately count, tag, and stock merchandise using warehouse management systems (WMS) to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Load Preparation: Properly stage and secure loads for shipment, ensuring weight distribution and proper documentation are in place.
- Workspace Maintenance: Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards to ensure a safe environment for all employees.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Class A, B, or C Forklift Operator Certification (required).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of professional forklift operating experience in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently, stand for extended periods, and maneuver in tight spaces.
- Documentation: Ability to read, write, and understand basic English for safety instructions and paperwork.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record (if driving forklifts with attachments or on yard jockeys).
