Responsibilities
- Operate Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Inventory Management: Assist in the accurate counting and tagging of inventory, ensuring stock is organized and easily retrievable.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and company policies to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Maintenance Checks: Perform routine pre-shift inspections on forklifts to ensure they are in proper working condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Order Fulfillment: Support the shipping and receiving department by preparing pallets for shipment and organizing stock according to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of daily activities and material movements as required.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid forklift operator certification (OSHA compliant) is mandatory.
- Experience: Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive motions.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy when handling inventory and operating heavy machinery.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with team leads and warehouse staff.
- Reliability: Consistent attendance and punctuality are required.
