Responsibilities
- Coordinate Freight Operations: Manage the end-to-end shipping process, including booking carriers, preparing bills of lading, and scheduling pickups and deliveries.
- Documentation Management: Verify and process shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs paperwork, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.
- Carrier Communication: Liaise with third-party logistics providers and trucking companies to resolve delivery issues, track shipments in real-time, and optimize shipping routes.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, reconcile shipping records, and report discrepancies to the warehouse management team immediately.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve shipping delays, damaged goods claims, and freight bill errors efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on local, state, and federal transportation laws to ensure all operations remain compliant.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain coordination.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail in data entry and documentation.
- Problem Solving: Ability to think critically and troubleshoot logistics challenges under tight deadlines.
