Role Overview:
We are looking for a Shipping Coordinator to oversee the end-to-end shipping process. You will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods, managing documentation, and maintaining clear communication with clients and carriers.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate Shipment Schedules: Arrange domestic and international freight, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries.
- Documentation Management: Prepare and process bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs documentation accurately.
- Carrier Communication: Liaise with shipping carriers and freight forwarders to resolve logistics issues and track shipments.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock availability for outbound shipments.
- Customer Service: Provide regular updates to clients regarding shipment status and delays.
- Cost Management: Analyze shipping costs and negotiate rates with carriers to optimize logistics expenses.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Logistics or related field preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to manage complex documentation and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a warehouse setting.
