Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule domestic and international freight shipments, ensuring timely delivery to customers.
- Prepare and verify all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs paperwork.
- Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve any logistical issues or delays with carriers and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping logs, inventory levels, and delivery reports in our logistics management software.
- Negotiate shipping rates with carriers to ensure cost-effectiveness and budget compliance.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure proper packaging and labeling of goods.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of shipping processes to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics coordination.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems) is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, carriers, and vendors.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs if necessary.
